PWSA(NZ) Family Support Camp 2025

March 21, 2025 @ 5:30 pm - March 23, 2025 @ 1:30 pm

$25 – $75

Our next Family Camp is taking place Friday 21st – Sunday 23rd March at MiCamp Taupō. Although our previous 2 camps have been held at MiCamp, we have a new, exciting programme for 2025 which promises to be different!

Family Camps are open to people with PWS of all ages to attend with their family or a support worker.

The camp at Lake Taupō is a comfortable and popular venue which is conveniently located in the middle of the North Island, allowing for most North Islanders to easily make their own way there by car. Subsidies are available for families flying from the South Island.

REGISTRATION:

Registration and payment will need to be completed at the same time via our Trybooking page: www.trybooking.com/nz/UTH
Please have all your group details ready when registering.

Please register by: January 31st

Please note that we are no longer able to subsidise camp at the previous level so contribution amounts have slightly increased, but our camp is still heavily subsidised by PWSA(NZ) – all your accommodation, meals and activities are included. We also keep camp costs as low as possible by requesting that parents and support staff help with camp duties and camp clean-up afterwards.

If camp costs are prohibitive to your being able to attend due to financial circumstances, please contact us to discuss.

SUBSIDIES AND TRANSPORT:

If you are in the South Island, subsidy payments are available for registered attendees up to the amounts listed below, which are 80% of current flight costs. Please note that subisdies may not cover 80% if you delay booking. Please keep an eye out for deals and book early. Ferry subsidies are also available.
The options are return flights into Taupō or Rotorua Airports, or using each airport one way. We may be able to arrange transport from airports by asking other attendees who are passing to collect passengers, or one of our camp volunteers may be able to drive to Taupō Airport to collect passengers, but we cannot promise this will be possible. If multiple passengers are arriving at similar times, we are happy to put families in touch who wish to share transport.

From Blenheim – up to $412 pp Taupō return / $389 Rotorua return
From Nelson – up to $394 pp Taupō return / $338 Rotorua return
From Christchurch – up to $335 pp
From Queenstown – up to $427 pp Taupō return / $378 Rotorua return
Please contact us if flying from an alternative airport.

Please note PWSA(NZ) reserves the right to request a refund of flight subsidies paid if families choose to cancel their registration or not attend this event. Families may wish to consider travel insurance. Please send your flight bookings with your account details to: accounts@pws.org.nz
