Membership
Becoming a Member of PWSA(NZ) ensures that you receive regular updates and communications, access to our library service, invitations to attend information or support events, and provides a say in the decision-making of your Association. Our membership structure was reviewed in 2026 and we have 4 membership types available, plus an Honorary Membership Scheme.

Parents and Carers Membership
For parents, legal guardians or adult siblings of an individual living with PWS.
- Full access to all approved services provided by PWSA(NZ).
- One per membership voting rights.
Complete Sections A and E.
Individual with PWS Lifetime Membership
For individuals who have a diagnosis of PWS.
- Full access to all approved services provided by PWSA(NZ).
- One per adult voting rights.
Complete Sections B and E.
Extended Family/Whānau Membership
For extended family / whānau of an individual living with PWS.
- Access to approved services provided by PWSA(NZ).
- One per membership voting rights.

Community Supporter Membership
For individuals or organisations who either have an interest in PWS or work alongside or support an individual(s) living with PWS, or their family / whānau.
- Access to approved services provided by PWSA(NZ).
- One per individual membership or one per organisation membership voting rights.

This statement applies to any personal information collected on www.pws.org.nz.
Through online forms we collect personal information from you which includes your name, contact information, and may include a date of birth or an organisation you represent and your role.
We collect this information to keep you informed and updated on matters that may be relevant to you regarding PWS, PWSA(NZ), or general disability information. We might also use this information to help us plan and provide advocacy, education and support services.
Your personal information will only be accessed for operations or administrative purposes by our staff, or a committee officer or volunteer who requires access to data in the capacity of an assigned role. We use administrative software, Infoodle Ltd (CRM) and Xero.com (accounting), but your personal information will not be shared with other third parties without permission. We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure.
